어원: de- (= down) + -scend (= to climb) 

 

* When an older adult descends a flight of stairs, for example, she may not tell the edge of one step from the next, so she stumbles. 

나이든 어른이 한 줄로 죽 이어진 계단을 내려갈 때 계단 하나하나의 끝이 잘 구분되지 않아서 발을 헛디디는 것이다.

우리 비행기가 하강하기 시작했어.
